Program Objective With its diverse portfolio of Environmental Management sites and projects the OAK-EM Program is committed to enabling the Mission of the Department of Energy. As part of the Closure Sites Office of the EM Program, OAK is committed to the completion of the environmental remediation, and decontamination and decommissioning of its assigned sites on the most aggressive timescale consistent with safety, applicable environmental regulations, stakeholder trust, and fiscal responsibility. OAK-EM is committed to executing these projects and assigned waste management activities at the Office of Science laboratories, (LBNL, and SLAC), the LLNL NNSA Laboratory, and the NNSA Laboratory (SPRU), in a manner that enables the successful execution of the DOE Missions by these facilities. Program Vision OAK-EMs vision is safe closure for each of its currently assigned sites and projects in a manner that exemplifies the optimum mix of stakeholder,regulator, and landlord program satisfaction with prudent stewardship of financial resources. Through its partnership with Oakland Laboratories, and lessons learned fromproject execution, OAK-EM will continue to make significant contributions to the enabling science for EM activities throughout the DOE and the nation. Using its foundation of trained staff, technology toolbox, and business acumen, OAK-EM will be positioned to provide on-demand competitive service to the EM Program, the Office of Science, and the NNSA to manage environmental remediation, decontamination and decommissioning, waste management, and environmental stewardship activities. |
